Ricky is an Andersonville based artist and a recent transplant from Boston. He has studied at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy.
He has spent most of his life in New England which can often produce very creative spirits. It has much visual diversity. There are urban centers, small towns, big towns, green mountains, rocky shores, serene beaches, historic properties, and abandoned mills. It is broad, beautiful and inspiring.
Much of his work is focused on vintage or abandoned manmade structures. There is often visual interest created with intersection of man-made and nature; light, shadow and green growth. Something that was once thoughtfully planned, constructed and celebrated is now no longer used; sometimes the thought, care and beauty still shows through.
