Steven Carrelli

Steven Carrelli is a visual artist working primarily in drawing and painting.
His varied studio practice also includes collaborative, public and installation-based work.

His works employ a variety of representational strategies to examine the slippery nature of perception and
to explore representation as a means of interpreting our relationships to place, time, labor and history.

He holds an MFA in Painting from Northwestern University and a BA in Studio Art from Wheaton College,
and he was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to Florence, Italy.
He lives in Chicago with his wife, the painter Louise LeBourgeois, and he teaches at DePaul University.
